Eu Communication on Social Business Initiative - Diesis' project "WISE" quoted as good practice

Diesis is proud to announce that the WISE project, coordinated by Diesis as coordinator, has been mentioned in the Commission Staff Working Paper accompanying the Communication on Social Business Initiative. This document highlights the actions already undertaken by the European Union with regard to social entrepreneurship.
WISE (Work Integration Social Enterprises) was a project financed by PROGRESS (the European Community Programme for Employment and Social Solidarity) in 2008-2009, that allowed organisations representing Social Enterprises and WISEs from eight Member States (Austria, Belgium, Finland, Italy, Malta, Poland, Romania and Spain), European networks, institutions and experts to discuss the contribution of WISEs to employment, inclusion and enterprise policies and the role they play within National Action Plans (NAPs) for inclusion, National Reform Programmes (NRPs) and Structural Fund Operational Programmes (OPs). For a short description of the project click here.

The two main outputs of the project are:
"A WISE Way of Working - Guidelines for European Policy Makers" (click here to download the Guidelines), a booklet containing 10 sets of recommendations for policy-makers along with 10 examples of how WISEs contribute to different EU policies.
"A WISE Way of Working – National Cross Cutting Reports" (click here to download the study), eight cross-cutting reports that set out how WISEs could make a better contribution to policies in the countries participating in the project (IT, BE, MT, PL, RO, ES, AT, FI) and identify policy guidelines for national and local policy-makers.
