The Coalition for Solidarity Economy Development (“The Coalition” – KoRSE) was formed in 2011 in Serbia at the initiative of the Balkan Local Initiatives Fund (BCIF), the current TRAG Foundation, the European Movement in Serbia (EMinS), Group 484, Initiative for Development and Cooperation (IDC) and Smart Kolektiv.

The Coalition is a network of organisations dedicated to developing a solidarity economy in Serbia. Its members are European Movement in Serbia, Initiative for Development and Cooperation, Smart Kolektiv and TRAG Foundation. The Coalition also offers unique Database of social enterprises, gathering more then 40 entities. Social enterprises are CoSED’s main stakeholder given the fact that it was also established by members of the Coalition. Besides that, the Coalition together with its founders developed and maintained network of various partners and stakeholders on national level and wider, i.e. donors community (Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, UN agencies, GIZ, HBS, USAID, etc.), public institutions (Office of the Prime minister, ministries in charge of social policy, economy, public policy, many local self-government and regional bodies, etc.), and many civil society organisation working in solidarity economy.

Moreover, the Coalition is a signatory to the regional declaration to encourage the development of national public policies on social entrepreneurship in the countries of the Western Balkans and Turkey “Belgrade Declaration on the Development of Social Entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans and Turkey “.

The Coalition for Solidarity Economy Development is acting as support organisation – intermediary, ecosystem builder – with its purpose is to help researchers and academics to capitalise data and information they obtain, to have tools, skills and know-how for participation in policy making processes, and also to gain knowledge on their role within the social entrepreneurship ecosystem. Our main focus is to help social business support organisations, advocacy organisations, policy creators and decision makers by having access to the raw data and functional information, by gathering knowledge on the social and solidarity economy in order to develop new impact oriented and ecosystem building projects, programmes and policies.

  • Development, facilitation and leading advocacy processes
  • Guidelines, Curricula and Training (finance and non-finance support programs for SEs, sustainable public procurements systems, etc.)
  • Dynamic public campaigns
