Diesis Network’s participation at The Azores 2023 Conference “A guide for NEETs social inclusion”.

The last two days we had the opportunity to take part in event held at the Congress Center of Angra do Heroísmo in Azores, Portugal, dedicated to exploring the future of young people in European peripheries and rural areas.

On behalf of Diesis Network, our Senior Expert, Anastasia Constantin, had the pleasure of attending the event and actively contributing to the insightful discussions as well as engaging with esteemed researchers, policy-makers, and institutions who shared invaluable insights on social inclusion, education, employment, and rural development for NEETS.

The discussions revolved around identifying pathways to foster social inclusion, enhance education opportunities, promote employment services, and facilitate sustainable rural development for NEETs. We were particularly inspired by the strategic role of social economy and social entrepreneurship in addressing the challenges faced by young individuals in these areas.

Today’s workshops were particularly valuable in discussing community-based projects, pathways to education, employment services, sustainable rural development, and human-centered NEET policy perspectives. We left the event feeling inspired and motivated to contribute to the social inclusion of NEETs fostering social economy models.
