Last week we had the honour to attend the Global SSE Forum in Dakar and meet many familiar faces!
The World Forum was hosted for the first time in Africa, bringing together people from all continents for three days exchanges and political dialogue, workshops, accompanied by cultural animations and villages of initiatives from all over the world. The main forum was preceded by the Youth & SSE Pre-Forum and the Women’s Day for SSE.
Diesis Network was involved in three workshops:
- Solidarity& Sustainable digital economy and smart territories, concretely on collaboration and instruments to support SSE
- Policy dialogues: local and national governments and key stakeholders of collective and sustainable economies; building Alliances& Partnership and strengthen cooperation and networks as a mean to influence policies (example of WB and MENA regions)
- SSE and sustainable development, unlocking the potential and empowerment of the rural communities, conducted together with our member from Cameroon PFAC.
GSEF Forum was the opportunity to connect with SSE organisations and actors from such countries as Ivory Coast, Togo, Gabon, Senegal and Benin and get to know their area of work, initiatives and understand theirs needs and challenges. On the other hand, Diesis Network had the possibility to present the networks’ scope of work, feature some good practices of our members and present know-how the relevant topics.
Several Diesis Network members were present, as well as some of the international organisations we are part of, such as the ESS Forum International and UNTFSSE.
Congrats to the GSEF staff for having made all this possible!
