  • The Foundation for Social and Economic Initiatives (FISE) is an independent non-profit organization created in 1990. FISE’s mission is the creation of descent job opportunities for every person, who would want to work and develop, with special focus on those who are at risk of social exclusion. Since 2005 FISE have been animating discussions among NGOs, public administration and business about the development of the social economy sector in Poland. Since 2016 FISE have been running social innovations’ incubator “TransferHUB” which supports the development, testing, promotion and implementation of innovative solutions that support decent and inclusive labor market. In 2018 FISE started a “Career information point for foreigners” which supports migrants and refugees to cope with challenges on Polish labor market. The point offers counselling, coaching, training and paid apprenticeships.

    MAIN ACTIVITIES

    • The foundation manages and carries out projects in such domains as labor market and employment/unemployment as well as social entrepreneurship and social innovations. Main activities of the foundation target social enterprises and social innovators, labor market institutions, non-profit organizations and individuals at risk of social exclusion.
    • Moreover FISE has been running The Best Social Enterprise of the Year Competition since 2011. It’s the first Poland-wide competition for social enterprises with financial awards.
    • It manages two web portals: www.rynekpracy.org dedicated to labor market institutions and unemployment matters and www.ekonomiaspoleczna.pl – focused on issues of social entrepreneurship, social economy organizations, non-profit activities and social inclusion matters.
