PLANNING SEEDs (2023-2025)

Planning Seeds aims to create a shared European methodological framework and a Handbook for the creation and management of Solidarity Economy Districts, involving young adults (18 – 30) with fewer opportunities and the elderly population (65+) in their development and promotion. Extending from a local experimentation level to a common shared methodology, Solidarity Economy Districts can increase resilience by promoting diverse rural-urban linkages, reducing dependence on external factors and supporting participatory governance to produce proactive and integrated policies.

General objectives:

  • Improve the recognition of the social economy and its potential by raising awareness and visibility through local social experiments of SFSC.

Specific Objectives:

  • To train local communities in the creation of SFSCs and Solidarity Economy Districts (SEEDs) connecting citizens and key territorial stakeholders for the promotion of social, economic and environmental sustainability principles indicated by the European CAP post-2020, Green Deal and Farm to Fork strategies.
  • Building a community of practice at European level to connect citizens, interested organisations and local administrations to create territorial development using different methods of action at local level based on the principles of democracy, equality, equity and solidarity.
  • Respond to the issues of the social economy sector as outlined in the Staff Working Documents accompanying the Social Economy Action Plan SWD/2021/373 and SWD/2021/982.
