RISE
RISE (Engaged Research in the Social Economy) aims to build the skills of social economy organisations (SEOs) to partner in projects with research institutes. This will enable more engaged research (ER), a practice that creates more socially impactful projects through collaboration between researchers and communities.
Objectives
This project will focus on equipping SEOs with the skills necessary to navigate the research landscape as non-academics and in partnership with researchers. It will give our SEO workers the tools and confidence to do so in a way that is strategic for their organisation and beneficial to their service users.
- Create a host of newly “research ready” organisations throughout the European social economy through the development of a tailored learning programme
- Validate project outputs and skills for participants through a comprehensive pilot and the development of a learning recognition system i.e. digital badges
- Share our methodology for replication and create pathways for sustainability through the development and dissemination of a publication, “Scaling up Engaged Research: The Social Economy Perspective”
- Share project results, facilitate networking, and showcase the value and potential of ER in Europe through our project website which will feature blogs, podcasts, case studies and an interactive map showcasing successful engaged research projects in Europe.
Activities
- Develop training programme in all partner languages
- Validate learning using an evaluation framework and 2-part pilot of the training programme
- Certify learning by issuing digital badges in recognition of upskilling
- Conduct an impact and sustainability study
- Disseminate results, which will be free, open access and replicable through a website, interactive map, blogs, podcasts, events, conference & more.
