ROMANSE
Young Roma Women for Social Entrepreneurship
The aim of the project is to improve the social and economic inclusion of Roma women in North Macedonia.
The low employment rate of Roma people remains one of the most worrying aspects of their social exclusion, and Roma women are the most affected by it, as they are subject to double discrimination based on gender and ethnic basis. Between 73% and 86% of young Roma women (18-24y) in North Macedonia are unemployed, lack the adequate training and are not getting educated.
–
ROMANSE project has created a set of activities to address their needs and constraints:
1. CSOs capacity building on supporting social entrepreneurship of young Roma women;
2. Tailored training on social entrepreneurship skills building and support for young Roma women;
3. Design, implementation and evaluation of Grant Scheme for smaller/grassroots Roma and youth CSOs;
4. Creation of local partnerships for development of tailor-made measures promoting social entrepreneurship of young Roma women;
5. Activities for raising awareness of Roma communities and the wider public.
