Melinda Kelemen joined Diesis in 2019 and she is currently working as a freelance expert. Formerly she was employed as an industrial relations expert and project manager at LIGA Trade Unions in Hungary. She managed European project on topics such as European Work Councils, industrial relations and migration, also coordinated research project on the evaluation of Hungarian Labour Code. She represented the Hungarian trade union confederations in several European bodies such as the Eurofound’s Governing Board, Advisory Committee on Employment and Change at Eurofound, ETUC’ Advisory Committee on Company Law and Workers’s Participation, also Advisory Committee on Free Movement of Workers of the European Commission. She participated as member of the European worker’s negotiating team in the process of joint in-depth employment analysis of the functioning of European labour markets between 2013 and 2015. For a short time, as a former public servant, she gain solid experience in labour and employment policies for the inclusion of disadvantaged groups such as minorities, young and aging people or women. She has also worked as a project manager and researcher in the private sector, and as an associated researcher for the European Trade Union Institution for 8 years. In the last more than 15 years, she wrote hundreds of short articles, reports on various labour market and social dialogue issues. She occasionally does teach industrial relations and labour market studies for trade union officials and gives presentation on similar issues for various audiences. She holds an MA in Sociology from Eötvös Lóránd University in Hungary and an MA in European Industrial Relations from University of Warwick in the UK.
