Project Officer

Virginia is originally from Turin, Italy and she works as Project Officer at Diesis.

Her main area of expertise concerns the empowerment of people and communities in vulnerable situations. Indeed, before arriving to Diesis, she was a Project Assistant in Brussels for a European Network defending and representing the interests of WISEs (Work Integration Social Enterprises). During the Master’s Degree in International Cooperation for the protection of Human Rights, she carried out strategic researches for Diesis’ objectives – politics of urban regeneration in multicultural neighborhoods, identity creation through memory in ex-URSS territories and a critic on the randomized controlled trial as a method of impact evaluation of international cooperation projects.

Since a young age, she volunteers together with NGOs, social cooperatives and social enterprises involved in social and economic inclusion of disadvantaged groups. These experiences allowed her to develop a strong understanding of the social economy sector, which today makes her effective and creative in the coordination of Diesis’ projects.
