Transition pathways for the proximity and social economy ecosystem: the policy papers

In 2021, the Annual Single Market Report presented an analysis of the challenges in 14 industrial ecosystems and the transformative initiatives to achieve the twin green and digital transition. On this basis, the Commission proposes co-creating transition pathways with the groups concerned, as an essential collaborative tool for the transformation of the industrial ecosystems.

In 2022, Diesis led a consortium, composed also of Euclid Network, Euricse and Social Economy Europe, which supported the European Commission in the development of the transition pathway for the proximity and social economy ecosystem. The activities carried out by the consortium were aimed at analyzing a public consultation launched by the Commission, implementing a series of workshops to consult the main stakeholders of the field, and carrying out desk research and analysis work.

The transition pathway for the proximity and social economy ecosystem was published in November 2022, alongside a series of documents produced by our consortium. Diesis experts contributed, in particular, with the support of Euclid Network and SOGA, to the development of the policy papers.

The aim of these policy papers was to contribute to the co-creation process and the development of the transition pathway. Therefore, the papers bring together several elements of the co-creation process that contribute to the identification of the challenges, best practices, potential solutions and actions needed to accelerate the twin transition of the proximity and social economy ecosystem.
