On the 4th and 5th of February, 2022, the partners of the Erasmus+ project VR Theatre met in a hybrid meeting in Matera. Matera Hub, our Italian partner, hosted a part of the partners in Matera, Italy, while the rest of the partnership who couldn’t join online, was able to attend thanks to the hybrid modality.

Even if the project kicked off in July of 2021, this meeting in Matera was essential for partners to meet for the first time and start discussing the first outcomes of the project. It was the opportunity to review together the research carried out in all the partners’ countries on digitalization and inclusion of the elderly and the use of digitalization in the cultural field. Partners had the opportunity to share the main outcomes of the research and compare the challenges they faced. The outcomes of this first activity will be presented in a unique research report.

Moreover, the VR project is creating an online platform dedicated to the subject, which will also be a networking space for realities working in both social inclusion via digitalization and digitalization of cultural activities. The partners had the chance to review the work done: soon the VR platform will be available!

Finally, it was the chance to also discuss the next steps of the project, in particular an upcoming training of professionals on social inclusion via digital cultural activities, and the development of national workshops and performances including elderly people, cultural activities and digitalization.

We thank all the partners who joined the meeting and look forward to keeping collaborating on this project!
