From the 6th to the 8th of September Diesis attended the RISE regional forum in Tirana, organized by RYCO, Pulse, SEE YN, OFAJ and Institut français. The RISE (Regional Incubator for Social Entrepreneurs) project believes that youth of the Western Balkans are talented, full of innovative ideas and eager to achieve them. That’s in the last years the project supported social business ideas that will make the region a better place. RISE focused on cooperation, ideas exchange, and peer learning.

The Forum brought together the most relevant actors and stakeholders of the entrepreneurial ecosystem from the Western Balkans 6 and Europe. The event was attended by representatives of a wide range of ecosystem players, including central and local government institutions from the region, local, regional and international development institutions, NGOs, social entrepreneurs, academia, and experts and mentors.

We were invited to present our activities in the Western Balkans. It was a great opportunity for to explain what Diesis is going in the region, such as awareness raising, networking, research, project implementation, capacity building, mutual learning and knowledge exchange. We also raised awareness about our current projects in the region such as WBSEA, We Green, EYSET and BC4ESE.

The Forum was a unique opportunity to listen to Ministers of Labour and economy from the Western Balkans region about the status of the social economy in their countries, to exchange  with many organisations and stakeholders working in the field, discover young social entrepreneurs and of course to meet and spend time with some of our members from the region!
